His particular passion is advising and protecting plan sponsors from the complexities of fiduciary liability by providing proprietary systems to monitor and document compliance. This protection takes place in an environment where the individual participant has the necessary tools to understand, and promotes a healthy retirement income outcome.
As a Political Science graduate from Western Maryland College, Rick served on the US Senate staff of John Glenn on Capitol Hill. During this period, he was offered and accepted a position in the Strategic Planning Department of American Standard.
In 1985, Rick entered the financial services industry and also received his Masters degree in Business from Johns Hopkins University. While at Hopkins, Rick studied Economics under Dr. Robert M. McTeer, former President of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank, and Finance and Investment Management with Mr. Frank Cappiello, considered one of the country’s leading financial analysts and frequent guest on PBS’ Wall Street Week. Rick attended and completed the Callan College for Fiduciary Training in San Francisco, and is a Registered Investment Advisor with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, Rick has been involved with numerous non-profit boards and fund-raising efforts. He is a member of the Landings Club and currently serves on its Board of Governors. Rick also presently sits on the investment committees of two 401(k) plans, which helps him to understand the issues facing plan sponsors.
